Getting Involved
Small Groups:
At Cleburne Bible Church, we believe that being involved in a small group is vital for getting connected to others for spiritual growth and in friendship. There are various kinds of small groups that meet throughout the week for Bible study – fellowship, prayer, accountability and more. Some of our groups are for men, some for women, some for couples and some for anyone, regardless of status in life. Some of our groups meet for a limited period of time and their focus is a study and interaction regarding a topic of concern, and some called Life groups, meet on an ongoing basis out of a desire to deepen relationships with God and with each other. For groups that meet on Sunday evenings, childcare is provided during the school year except on the evenings before holidays. Ministries:
Getting involved in ministry and service is important because you are needed. The Church is referred to in Scripture as a Body and just as a physical body needs every member, whether it be a finger or hand or leg or internal organ, to do its part in order to function normally, so too the Body of Christ needs every member to do its part. God has given you a unique set of gifts and talents to be used to help build up the church and enable it to function at its full capacity.
Additionally, by serving, you also grow. Faith without works is dead. Something that is dead was once alive. So too faith that is alive can die unless we become involved in service. However, if we serve, our faith continues to grow.
You can become involved in service in a couple of ways. First, if you just don’t know where you fit, you can attend the Discovery Class if you haven’t done so. At the end of that class, there will be people who are part of what we call our Connextion team to assist you in understanding how your spiritual gifts, heart or desires, abilities, personality, and experiences fit into potential places of service. We use an acronym calling it discovering your S.H.A.P.E. Contact the church office if you want to know more about assessing your “fit” for ministry.
Second, you can check out our ministry opportunity list on the Ministries Page of this website to note places where we need help. If any of these appeal to you, you can simply contact the staff person in charge of those ministries and they will direct you.
